Facebook-How to Unfriend Someone on Facebook

Do you need to unfriend someone on Facebook? There are many causes. She's annoying. He takes 80 Facebook quizzes a day. You're not dating anymore. You have a new bff. Whatever the reason, sometimes you just need to unfriend someone. It's easier than it seems.

Determine the severity of the unfriending. If you are removing a distant acquaintance to thin out your list of 750 Facebook friends, the pain will not be great. However, telling your best friend you are unfriending her could set off a bitter feud. So proceed cautiously. Unfriend only if necessary.

Once you're sure of your decision, log on to Facebook and find the "Friends" tab. Under "Friends," select "All Friends." Scroll down the list until you find your friend's name. There is an "x" box to the right of the name beside the "Add to List" option. Click on this box.

Next, a Facebook dialogue box pops up asking if you really want to remove your friend. Steel your nerves, click on Remove, and the unfriending is done.

When you unfriend someone on Facebook, you disappear from your former friend's friend list. Your friend is not otherwise informed. You can still view your friend's Facebook profile if it is public, but you have no other access.

Though Facebook says removing someone cannot be undone, you can add your friend again just by hitting the "Add Friend" button. However, you may have to come up with an embarrassing explanation why you need to add your friend again.
